Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Know Thyself Today ("we," "us," or "our"), operated by [your business's legal name], collects when you use knowthyselftoday.com (the "Site"), how we use it, and the choices and rights you have, including under California law. The short version: we collect as little as we can, we never sell your information, and we don't use advertising trackers.
1. Information we collect
Quiz answers
While you take a quiz, your answers are processed in your own web browser. They aren't sent to us unless you buy a result or membership. When you do, a short coded version of your answers (for example, "0231…") is attached to your Stripe checkout so we can show your result when you come back from paying.
Purchase information
When you buy something, our payment processor, Stripe, collects your email address, name, payment card details, and billing country or ZIP code. We receive your email address, name, what you bought, and the payment status. We never receive or store your full card number.
Information stored in your browser
The Site stores an "access pass" in your browser's local storage so you don't have to pay again or log in, and temporarily keeps your quiz answers while you check out. This information stays on your device. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
Access codes and friend links
If you enter an access code, we check it against our list. If you create a friend comparison link, it contains the first name you type and your result, and it's shared only with the people you send it to.
Technical information
Like almost every website, our hosting provider (Netlify) automatically receives technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you requested. Our fonts load from Google Fonts, which also receives your IP address and browser information.
Messages you send us
If you email us, we'll have your email address and whatever you choose to tell us.
2. Sensitive information
Some quizzes ask about personal topics, like your religious beliefs, your family history, or how you handle emotions. Under California law, information about religious beliefs can be "sensitive personal information." We use your answers only to calculate and show your result. We don't use them to profile you, target ads, or make decisions about you, and we don't sell or share them.
3. How we use information
- To show your quiz results and give you the access you paid for
- To process payments, send receipts, and manage All Access renewals and cancellations
- To answer your questions and restore access if you switch devices
- To keep the Site secure and prevent fraud or misuse
- To follow the law, including tax and accounting rules
We'll only send you marketing emails if you've agreed to receive them, and every marketing email will have an unsubscribe link.
4. Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers that help us run the Site, and only for that purpose:
- Stripe (payments and billing): stripe.com/privacy
- Netlify (website hosting): netlify.com/privacy
- Google Fonts (typefaces): policies.google.com/privacy
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or someone's safety, or as part of a business sale or merger (in which case this policy would continue to apply).
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under California law. We haven't done so in the past 12 months.

We collect this information from you directly, from your browser, and from Stripe when you pay.
6. How long we keep information
Payment records are kept by Stripe and by us for as long as tax and accounting laws require (generally up to 7 years). Hosting logs are kept for a short time by Netlify. Information stored in your browser stays until you clear it. Emails you send us are kept only as long as we need them to help you.
7. Your California privacy rights
If you live in California, you have the right to:
- Know and access the personal information we've collected about you
- Delete personal information we've collected, with some exceptions (for example, records we must keep for taxes)
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We don't sell or share it, so there's nothing to opt out of, but you may still ask.
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information. We already use it only to show your result.
- Not be discriminated against for using any of these rights
To make a request, email support@knowthyselftoday.com with the subject "Privacy request" from the email address you used to buy (if any). We'll verify your request by confirming that email address, and we'll respond within 45 days. You can use an authorized agent to make a request for you. We may ask for proof that they're authorized.
Global Privacy Control and "Do Not Track": We honor Global Privacy Control signals as a request to opt out of sale or sharing. We don't track you across other websites, and we respond to "Do Not Track" signals the same way we treat every visitor: without tracking.
Shine the Light (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.83): We don't share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing.
You can review or update the email address on your purchases, or ask any privacy question, by emailing us.
8. Children
The Site isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, email us and we'll delete it.
9. Security
We use HTTPS encryption, rely on Stripe's secure payment systems, and collect as little as possible. No website can be 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the effective date at the top. For important changes, we'll also post a notice on the Site or email you if we have your address.
